There are lots of different banks of question available that increase  in difficulty; the most popular of which are red, amber and green columns.

These questions change the level of skill required to solve the problem, according the bloom's taxonomy (hence blooming!)

The left hand column tests recall and remembering facts. The middle column(s) require understanding and application. The final column requires evaluation and  proof.
